The front and rear hydraulic drive axle assemblies pin to the provided Rail Gear fixed frame that is welded to the excavator car body. Both front and rear Rail Gear axles are driven by heavy duty hydraulic motors. Hydraulic Hoses that normally connect to the rear excavators drive motors are re-routed to the Mitchell control valves and new hydraulic hoses are connected between the Mitchell control valves and the excavator rear drive motors.

Both front and rear hydraulic drive axles are equipped with ride control that's acts as a shock absorber for dampening forces from traveling on uneven railroad track. This helps to stabilize the entire machine on rail.

The Rail Gear drive system can be controlled with manual valves located on the rail ger or optionally in-cab controls.

BACKHOE ATTACHMENT SYSTEMS

 \"CaseBackhoe-14.jpg/"

Description:

Backhoe Tie Switcher

The Backhoe Tie Switcher system fits a wide range of manufacturers’ loader backhoes. The attachments are modular in design allowing them to be easily configured for various backhoe loaders. The system is designed to allow a standard backhoe loader to be configured to be able to change out a railroad tie in 2 minutes.

TIE SWITCHER SYSTEM COMPONENTS

Tie Head

The Tie Head is a combination robotic style 360° Rotating Tie Head with an integral Scarifier Blade. The Tie Head grabs ties in any position for extraction, insertion and placement. The built-in Scarifier Blade kicks the ties out and back drags ballast. For wood ties, the Tie Head opens to 10 inches and closes to zero. The ties are securely clamped and help with self-aligning tie pads. The tie pads are the same width of the amount the tie sticks out under the rail for precise placement. The tie head can be ordered with jaws for wood ties, concrete ties or rail.

Rail Clamps

The Rail Clamps are an integral part of the modular Rear Rail Gear. The Rail Clamps travel up and down with the rear Rail Gear. The backhoe can be clamp to the rail to stabilize the machine on rail and used in conjunction with the Parallel Linkage Stabilizers to lift the rail when removing railroad ties.

Parallel Linkage Stabilizers

The Rail Clamps are an integral part of the modular Rear Rail Gear. The Rail Clamps travel up and down with the rear Rail Gear. The backhoe can be clamp to the rail to stabilize the machine on rail and used in conjunction with the Parallel Linkage Stabilizers to lift the rail when removing railroad ties. The Patented Parallel Linkage Stabilizers jacks remain vertical and can be extended throughout the entire horizontal travel. Pivot Stabilizers moving in an arc forcing the rail out of gauge when trying to lift the rail. Using the Parallel Linkage Stabilizers is the only way to lift the rail vertical so the rail can be lowered to its original position to maintain rail gauge.

Front Rail Gear

The front Rail Gear is available in two different versions; Hydraulic operation or Mechanical Operation - Front Bucket Mount. With the hydraulic operation the standard machine counterweight has to be deleted from the machine and replaced with a special Mitchell Rail Gear counterweight. The Hydraulic operation must be used if any front loader arm attachments are to be used on rail. The Mechanical Operation – deployed and stowed by rotating the bucket.

Front Rail Gear

The rear Rail Gear raises and lowers vertically and has a built-in spring suspension for compensating for low spots in the rail and for traveling thru frogs and switches.

Efficient and Precise Material Handling with Railroad Clam Shell Buckets

A special kind of heavy-duty bucket made for use in railroad operations is called a Mitchell-railgear RAILROAD CLAM SHELL BUCKET . Typically, these buckets are used to load and unload bulk items like coal, gravel, sand, and other loose materials. They are also employed for maintenance tasks including removing rubbish from railroad rails and cleaning ballast.

RAILROAD CLAM SHELL BUCKET  has a straightforward yet practical design. It has two buckets on hinges that are moved by a hydraulic system. The buckets are made to fit together firmly, forming a tight seal that keeps all of the contents from pouring out. The operator may manage the movement and location of the buckets as well as how they open and close thanks to the hydraulic system.

Utilizing a railroad clam shell bucket has a number of benefits, one of which is that it enables precise material handling. The operator may place the bucket exactly where it needs to be before opening and closing it with hydraulic controls to take up or release the material. This degree of accuracy is crucial in railroad operations since even little mistakes might result in lengthy delays or safety risks.

Our railroad clam shell bucket's ability to swiftly and effectively handle enormous amounts of material is another benefit. The bucket can transfer substantial amounts of material quickly since it can be quickly opened and closed and accurately positioned. This makes it the perfect equipment for both loading and unloading trains and for maintaining railroad tracks.

Railroad clam shell buckets are not only very effective and precise, but also exceptionally strong and long-lasting. They can endure the rigorous circumstances of railroad operations because they are often composed of high-strength steel or other strong materials. They are a wise investment for train operators who need dependable machinery that can withstand repeated hard use due to their longevity.

For anybody involved in railroad operations, Mitchell-railgear RAILROAD CLAM SHELL BUCKET is useful and necessary equipment. A clam shell bucket may assist you in doing the task quickly, effectively, and safely whether you need to load and unload bulk commodities or maintain railroad lines. Therefore, a clam shell bucket should be a key component of your toolkit if you're in the market for new machinery for your railroad operations.

If you work in the railroad sector, you are aware of how crucial it is to have the appropriate tools for the job. A dependable and effective grapple for lifting and manipulating railroad ties is one piece of equipment that every railroad worker must have. Mitchell-railgear RAILROAD GRAPPLES are an excellent investment for any railroad firm or contractor because they are made expressly for this use.

With the use of railroad grapples, workers may quickly lift, move, and place railroad ties without risking damage. They are made to last for years since they are made of sturdy materials that can resist the rigors of heavy use. To fit the numerous sizes and types of railroad ties used in the industry, these grapples are available in a variety of sizes and forms.

Utilizing railroad grapples has a number of significant benefits, one of which is their capacity to boost productivity and efficiency. In contrast to physically doing these activities, employees may swiftly and efficiently lift and position railroad ties by utilizing a grapple, saving time and effort. This might save labor expenses, boost output, and enhance overall workflow.

Our Railroad grapples have the additional benefit of being significantly safer than manual lifting. Because they can be difficult to handle and heavy, railroad ties put workers at risk for injury. A grapple lowers the risk of injury and raises overall job site safety since it allows personnel to lift and place the ties without putting themselves in danger.

The railroad business may employ railroad grapples for a number of different activities since they are such adaptable instruments. They can be used, for instance, to transport and place switch points, rail sections, and other large machinery. For any railroad business or contractor trying to increase effectiveness, productivity, and safety on the job site, they are therefore a wise investment.

In conclusion, purchasing

RAILROAD GRAPPLES

is a wise move if you operate in the railroad sector. These effective tools make it simple, quick, and safe to lift and position railroad ties, which lower labor costs, boost output, and enhance workflow. Mitchell-railgear train grapples are a crucial piece of gear that every train worker should have in their armory because of their adaptability and toughness.
